NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Prince George's County BRAC Revitalization and Incentive Zone
Application-Andrews Air Force Base Vicinity

UPPER MARLBORO, MD - The Prince George's County Office of the County
Executive will hold a public hearing next week on the federal Base
Realignment and Closure (BRAC) initiative, which is slated to bring
2,400 - 2,700 new employees to Andrews Air Force Base.

The Office of the County Executive is preparing a BRAC Revitalization
and Incentive Zone application (BRAC application) that will be
considered for funding by the Maryland Department of Business and
Economic Development. The BRAC application primarily focuses on the
creation of a zone that has the capacity for additional housing, public
facilities and infrastructure. BRAC zones are well-defined areas where
local governments are eligible for financial assistance to improve
public infrastructure, such as streets, utilities and recreation venues.

The public hearing is part of the application process leading to the
approval of a zone to accommodate the required public infrastructure and
additional households that will be coming to the area near Andrews Air
Force Base as the result of BRAC.
