BOE Goes to Community to Dialog, Share Information

 

2008-09-03

Thursday, September 18, 2008, the Prince George's County Board of
Education will host its second meeting in a series entitled "Taking Your
Board of Education to the Community." The meeting will be at  G. James
Gholson MS <http://schools.pgcps.org/index.asp?code=13420&Submit=GO> .
All community meetings will begin at 7 p.m. and provide opportunities
for communities to discuss public school issues and hear Board members
report on topics of interest. 

"Each Board member has made community involvement in public school
education a priority and we want to engage our constituents in
conversations that help accelerate the improvements being made in Prince
George's County Public Schools," said Board of Education Chair Verjeana
M. Jacobs, Esq. "Every member of this community has responsibility for
the success of our schools, and each Board members looks forward to
establishing mutually beneficial lines of communication."

Meetings will be held in each Board of Education school district and all
county residents are encouraged to attend and participate in the dialog
being invited by the Board members. The complete community meeting
schedule is as follows:
