First, thank you all for the many calls, cards, visits and prayers you sent during my recent recovery! Both Bill and I deeply appreciate your help and moral support. I have resumed some, if not all, of my activities and hope to continue building my level of involvement week by week...until I can say I've completely recovered.

The first major item is the Spring Meeting which will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at 7 P.M. at the Crescent Cities Jaycees. Representatives of The Peterson Companies will present information about The Rest of the National Harbor Project. We have heard so much of the Gaylord hotel and convention center...we would like to hear more about the other part of the project. Everyone is invited! Please mark your calendars and plan on joining us.

Other informational items are:
Police District IV will hold an open house to celebrate the closing of their 75th Anniversary year on Saturday, April 14, 2007, from noon to 4 P.M. The Station is located in the Eastover Mall at 5135 Indian Head Highway. Everyone is welcome! Car clubs will be available; information of all kinds will be provided. Come and meet District IV officers and staff.
A public hearing on the budget for M-NCPPC will be held on April 17, 2007 at 7 P.M. at the County Administration Building. Remember: we support the South County Recreation and Technology Center, improved security, lighting and facilities at many of our local county parks, completion and resumed operation of Oxon Hill Manor, etc.
A Career Day will be held at the Best Western at Potomac View on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
There will be a public community forum sponsored by Police District IV Citizens' Advisory Council in early May, 2007, from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. It will deal with violence, be it spouse-spouse, dating partners, bullying, etc. Panelists include Sheriff Jackson, State's Attorney Ivey, Dr. Holtz and Ms. Cade. Date is still unknown. Look for an announcement soon and plan to attend.
County budget hearings on the CIP, BOE and the Current Operating Budget will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 and Tuesday, May 8, 2007 beginning at 7 P.M. at the County Administration Building.
Again...my sincere thanks for your good thoughts and good wishes. I hope to see you all on Thursday, April 26th!
